Commemoration of all the Faithful Departed / el Día de los Muertos – This is a day set aside by the Church to remember and pray for all our deceased loved ones. Here at St. Rita, we are offering everyone the opportunity to do this in very special ways:
- READING NAMES – You may call or come to the rectory office to give us names of those you would like to be remembered during one Mass that day. Names received before Sunday, October 24 will be read aloud during the Mass of your choosing. As far as is possible, we ask that you consider giving a donation for each name you submit.
- PHOTOS – Between now and October 24, we invite you to bring photos of your deceased loved ones which will be displayed on our Altar of the Dead beginning on November 2 and throughout the month of November. If possible, please put the picture in a frame (so it can stand up) and IF YOU WANT THE PICTURE RETURNED TO YOU, please include your name and telephone number on the back of the picture. Please bring photos to the parish office.
- BOOK OF LIFE – Throughout November the Book of Life will be near the Altar of the Dead for you to inscribe the names of your deceased loved ones. They will be remembered in prayer all month long.
- CROSSES – We invite you to give us the names of your deceased loved ones. We will put their names on one of the wooden crosses that will be displayed in our Garden of Our Lady of Guadalupe. LAST DAY TO TURN IN THE FORM AVAILABLE BELOW IS SUNDAY, OCTOBER 24 – Donation of $10 per Cross – Limit of 5 names per Cross.
