Welcome Augustinian Sisters
We are Augustinian sisters from the Monastery of the Conversion located in Sotillo, Spain. Our monastery was established in 1999 and since that time we have grown to include monasteries in Italy, Peru and the United States.
Our call is to live the spirit of the founding of the Order of Saint Augustine, dedicating ourselves to prayer, study, liturgy, community life and evangelization through different means and activities.
At the present time we are living with our Augustinian Sisters in New Lenox, IL. While we continue to learn and adapt to the language and culture in the United States, we are also very happy and grateful to have a small presence here at St. Rita’s parish and participate with our Augustinian brothers in the work of spreading the Good News of Jesus Christ!
As Augustinians there are two words that define us: CONVERSION and COMMUNION. Discovering the poverty and fragility of our own humanity we also recognize the restlessness of our hearts which unceasingly seeks God. As we turn our gaze to Him, allowing His grace to transform us, we continue each day to walk the path of CONVERSION.
Through our prayer and presence, we extend a welcome to all and any who need our help. We understand that the goal of the pilgrimage of our life is to live in the fullness of God’s love. This draws us into COMMUNION with all whom God brings into our lives. To be of one mind and heart with all God’s children enables us to live and share the unity that Jesus himself asks of the Father “May they all be one so that the world may believe.” (John 17,21)
We are looking forward to meeting and getting to know you! Please pray for us as we do for you.
