COVID-19 VACCINE IS A MORAL OBLIGATION
We want to remind the St. Rita community that receiving the COVID-19 vaccine is “a moral obligation” as a member of the community of Jesus Christ. The Congregation for Divine Faith and the USCCB Secretariat of Pro-Life Activities have examined the moral issue of developing vaccinations and have stated that Catholics may licitly receive the vaccine. The moral imperative to defend life is one of the foundations of our faith, knowing that we have been created in the image and likeness of God. At the same time, our actions to prevent the spread of COVID-19 also carry moral weight. Therefore, the Catholic Church continues to encourage the faithful to receive the COVID-19 vaccine.
