Easter Message from Father Homero
![]()
The Lord has, Risen, Risen, Risen!
Hallelujah, Hallelujah!
Dear brothers and sisters, members of St. Rita Parish and St. Clare Church,
Today we celebrate the resurrection for all Christians. For us who believe in Christ, Easter has an extraordinary meaning, it means the passage from death to life. Christ is risen and with his resurrection he has conquered death and sin and has given us new life.
For us in our beautiful churches of St. Rita and St. Clare, the resurrection invites us to reflect on our own physical and spiritual buildings. The hope is that seeing our material churches look very different is hope to know that our spiritual buildings must also be built with respect, faith, and harmony.
Today more than ever I realize that our communities of faith have traveled a desert of penance, sacrifice and faith. To arrive at this resurrection where we have understood that we must leave the darkness of error, ignorance and selfishness. By leaving these attitudes and putting aside the chains of death that bind us to sin to become luminous, peaceful, harmonious and faith-filled beings, we too can shout for joy in the Resurrection of Christ.
We still have eight months left of this extraordinary Jubilee Year, where we intend to renew our lives, to increase our prayers, but above all to increase our works of charity in order to gain forgiveness for our temporal sorrows, which sin has left us after we have confessed.
The invitation for us is to transform ourselves in this resurrection into women and men who have compassion on others, who help others, who seek faith as a community and who can go out to meet our brothers and sisters who are sick, thirsty, needy, imprisoned and hungry not only for physical bread, but also for the risen Lord. May this resurrection of the Lord lead us too to transform our lives so that like Mary in the gospel we can bring the Message of the Resurrection to others, beginning with our family and continuing with the people we meet along the way.
Happy Easter!
