How to Become Catholic
For adults today the Church after the Second Vatican Council, has restored the order of the Catechumenate in the Order of Christian Initiation of Adults (O.C.I.A.). It summarizes the steps to the formation of catechumens, bringing their conversion to a greater maturity. It helps them respond more deeply to the initiative of a merciful God in their lives and prepare them for the union with the Church community. This process is to form them in the fullness of the Christian life and to be disciples of Jesus, their teacher. It includes an introduction to the mystery of salvation, the practice of the faith, hope and love, and other virtues in a series of liturgical rites.
For information on classes for adults who want to become Catholic (through Baptism or conversion to Catholicism) or to complete your sacraments of First Communion and Confirmation, please call the parish office and leave a message for our adult formation coordinator.
Also, if your child is 7 years old or more and has not been baptized, you need to register him or her in our religious education program to attend classes. After 2 years, he or she will receive the three sacraments of initiation (Baptism, First Communion and Confirmation) at the Easter Vigil.
